hi! let us introduce ourselves…

We are an organization of high school students seeking change, and we’re so glad you’re here with us! Greater Lafayette ACE is based out of West Lafayette, but we hope to serve anyone, anywhere who is in the pursuit of knowledge and change. Our community has few collective resources for residents to educate themselves on issues of oppression, discrimination, and systemic disadvantages in relation to race. In addition to this, the histories and culture of Black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), and topics of systemic inequality are neglected throughout all levels of education. Here at ACE, we want to change that. We specifically wish to provide a reliable resource to guide and inspire your personal anti-racist education. Whether you are an avid scholar on these topics or you have only recently started this education, we’re all here for the same reason: we want to learn and be better people for other people. Anyone, at any point of their journey, is welcome here, and we hope to cultivate an inclusive community through virtual and safe in-person events centered on education with aspects of outreach. We’re happy to see you join us on this journey.

Speaker Series

Our first program will be the Speaker Series, which will commence on October 17th. So, what exactly is a Speaker Series? Every month, a new guest speaker will come to speak with us and our audience about a specific topic within our anti-racist curriculum. With that guest speaker, we host an hour-long discussion-based webinar that will be live-streamed on YouTube, so you can watch and learn safely from home. Our guest speakers come from all over the country and speak with us about their specific areas of expertise. Of course, we want you to get the most out of these sessions, so the last 15 minutes of the webinar will be dedicated to Q&A with our guest speaker. Our hope is that this Speaker Series will supply the knowledge and discourse you’ve been looking for and will provide direction for your ongoing anti-racist education, especially if you are feeling lost. So please join us every third Saturday of the month as we speak with our amazing guests!
